Server photo gallery software runs on a web server (or network server) and enables management and publication of digital photographs and other media through a server.

Gallery 3

Gallery is an open source project enabling management and publication of digital photographs and other media through a PHP-enabled web server. Photo manipulation includes automatic thumbnails, resizing, rotation, and flipping, among other things. Albums can be organized hierarchically and individually controlled by administrators or privileged users.

Gallery 3 is the current release of Gallery. It is a complete rewrite of Gallery 2 attempting to be small, intuitive, fast, and easily customizable. Gallery 3.0 was released on October 5, 2010.

An advantage of Gallery 3 is the ease of uploading images, creating albums, and otherwise allowing users to create their galleries.

A disadvantage is that the server requirements can be large.

Gallery 3 does not integrate easily into WordPress. Plug-ins and RESTful services are available to show some Gallery 3 images inside WordPress but the full program must run separately.

G3 REST for Wordpress

G3 REST for Wordpress is a plug-in for WordPress that uses Gallery3's REST API to embed your gallery within WordPress to view photos and videos in your blog.

heiv Gallery 3

heiv Gallery 3 is a Wordpress plug-in that embeds Gallery 3 within Wordpress to share photos, videos and any other Gallery3 content seamlessly into the Wordpress sidebar and blog entries.
